“Instructions for living a life. Pay attention. Be astonished. Tell about it.”
Mary Oliver
Getting Started
What follows is a general description of how I work with you from your initial contact right through the follow-up of a customized Life Seasons Ceremony that has been scheduled for at least six weeks in advance. The process may vary for low or non-customized services, or for ceremonies scheduled less than six weeks from initial contact.
If you have need of a ceremony on SHORT NOTICE, be it for an end of life tribute, an elopement or any other situation, please indicate that in your message. I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Initial Contact
Please contact me by email or phone 978-879-6826. I will return your call and we will chat briefly about your ceremony – the date and location and your plans thus far. If I am available for your ceremony date, we will schedule a time and place to meet – in person, by Skype or by phone – for a no-obligation consultation.
The Complimentary Meeting
I prefer to meet in person when possible. Coffee shops work well. This is our opportunity to get to know one another and determine if we would work well together. We’ll talk about your ceremony, your hopes, your concerns and anything else that comes up. I will take a lot of notes.
I’ll bring an information packet and a draft contract. If you decide to book me, we can sign the contract then. If you’d rather take time to think it over, that is fine. You can take the draft contract home with you. If you decide to go forward, return a signed copy to me. If you decide not to go forward with me, that’s perfectly fine as well. This is a no-obligation meeting.
Questionnaire
After I receive your contract and deposit, I will send you a questionnaire. The information you share will form the basis of how I write your story and select details for your ceremony.
Collaborative Crafting
When you return the questionnaire(s), I begin crafting your ceremony. I’ll send you a first draft for review. With your input, the draft will be refined until it fully meets your approval. You have final say over every word and every element of the ceremony. Throughout the process, I remain available to answer any questions and be your sounding board for ideas.
The Ceremony
I will arrive early to coordinate with all participants including photographers and musicians. I will lead your ceremony. I will remain afterward as desired to assist in any post ceremony needs.
And After
For weddings, I promptly file all legal paperwork. For all occasions, I send you an electronic and/or printed keepsake quality copy of your ceremony.
