About Rose and Life Seasons Ceremonies

Around the Year in Ritual

I am a lifelong New Englander.  Originally from the Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts, I currently make my home north of Boston on Cape Ann – a tight knit community of sea-faring folks, small businesses, families and artists.

New England is blessed with the fullness of all four seasons. I have always enjoyed the festivals and rituals that accompany the turning of the year. Since 1985, I have joyfully led community celebrations of spring and the midwinter throughout the region.

Through the seasons of our lives, we cross many thresholds, pass many milestones, traverse myriad rites of passage – we are born, join families, come of age, marry, know joys, encounter challenges and face loss.

The name Life Seasons Ceremonies comes from my strong affinity for the wheel of the year and Seasonal Festivals, as well as the distinct connection between Nature’s seasons and the human life cycle.

What is ‘real’?

Growing up, I found the ceremonies of my family’s faith tradition often left me feeling empty. The traditions and rituals had grown dry, lifeless and rote. I pursued the study of mythologies and wisdom traditions, including the the thinking of humanists and spiritualists, to expand my world view.

I believe each of us has the capacity to make our own connection to what is true. I respect each individual’s belief system be it secular, religious or spiritual. I am prepared to work with you without judgement.

Heartcrafted

Try as I might, I never quite got the knack for handcrafts. But when it came to the expressive arts, I found my gifts. In addition to being a celebrant, I am a singer, writer, actor and storyteller. Whenever I learn a piece for performance, I prefer to learn it by heart rather than memorize it. I have found there is a difference.

As a heartcrafter, I base all that I do in Creativity, Consciousness and Community. My skills include awareness, empathy, discernment, foresight and conceptualization.

I focus on providing support and empowerment to others as they make meaning and experience connections through ceremony, ritual and symbol. My intent is always to serve, never to impose.
